What makes the wooden Armadillo trap work?

For an armadillo trap to be effective, it must be made of wood. The scent of an armadillo cannot be “imprinted” on a metal or wire trap(see this LSU press release). It should be open on both ends so that the armadillo feels like he is passing through. Additionally, your catch direction is doubled. Once the first armadillo is trapped in our trap, there is a way to virtually permanently imprint the trap with the armadillo scent which will last from season to season. We provide instructions when the trap is purchased.

Our traps are made from all pressure treated wood so that it should last for years and can be left outside the year around.

We ship our traps with instructions as to how to “condition” the trap with the armadillo scent. We currently use all the armadillos we catch to per-scent traps that we sell. We also use armadillos caught by customers who live close by for that same purpose.
